You should realize that the workloads of sociology TAs are immense--much more than the modal undergraduate has ever experienced. For example, a graduate student in sociology who is writing a thesis, taking courses, and TAing may average 12 hours of work a day throughout much of the academic year, with no day "off". Nor or spring and summer breaks "off": they're times to catch up on research, on funding proposals, on IRB protocols, and so forth. And many TAs in this and other departments have spouses, homes, children, and other responsibilities outside of academic work.

So thank your TA. And write a good paper.
